Murray sunk by Tipsarevic wonder winner |

World No 4 Andy Murray has crashed out of the Barclays Dubai Tennis Championships in the second round.
Murray lost in three sets to Serbia's Janko Tipsarevic. The Scot looked to have overcome losing the first set when taking the second to force a decider, but Tipsarevic raised his game to seal a 7-6 (7/3) 4-6 6-4 victory.
In the decider, Tipsarevic claimed an early break and then saved five break points in an epic fifth game to lead 4-1.
After the first set, where he had squandered an early break, it was perhaps no surprise that Tipsarevic was unable to serve out for the match, two woeful backhand errors helping Murray to reduce his arrears to 5-4.
However, Murray himself was broken in the next game and Tipsarevic sank to his knees in celebration of one of the best wins of his career.
McGee soars to shock top seed
IRELAND'S James McGee yesterday turned in his best performance for some time to shock the top seed in the first round of the ITF Men's Futures event in Sarajevo, writes Paddy Hickey.
The unseeded Dubliner made light of the fact that he was conceding 265 places in the world rankings -- 502 to 237 -- against Austria's Phillip Oswald, and went on to score a 6-3 7-6 (7/4) win to set up a second-round clash today with unseeded Pole Dawid Olejniczak.
On the ITF U-18 Circuit, Greystones' Amy Bowtell progressed in the Grade 3 event in Siauliai, Lithuania, romping to a 6-2 6-1 second-round success over Finland's Ella Leivo.
But National Indoors U-18 runner-up Grainne O'Neill exited at the corresponding stage of the Grade 4 event in Oslo, to No 7 seed Rebecca Poikajarvi of Sweden on a 2-6 1-6 scoreline.
Creevy strikes
wonder winner
Man of the Match Robbie Creevy scored a wonder winner deep in stoppage time to earn UCD a 2-1 victory over DIT and a third Colleges and Universities Premier League title in four years at Tolka Park last night.
Peter McMahon put UCD ahead on 19 minutes when he outpaced Niall Flynn to fire low under goalkeeper Craig Hyland. DIT were level on the half hour mark with a marvellous strike from Craig McDonnell from the edge of the box.
In a hard-fought second half there were few goal scoring opportunities until Creevy popped up with the clincher.
