Laila Suhail joins Dubai Gold & Jewellery Group's advisory board |

In a strategic initiative aimed at fostering a greater tie between the government and Dubai's jewellery trade, the Dubai Gold & Jewellery Group (DGJG), a trade body representing 700 members of the industry, has announced the appointment of Laila Suhail, DSF Chief Marketing Officer, to its Board of Directors.
'Government-led marketing initiatives like Dubai Shopping Festival and Dubai Summer Surprises have helped our industry tremendously and Laila Suhail's decision to join our board will further strengthen our alliance with the public sector to benefit Dubai's gold and jewellery trade,' said Tawhid Abdullah, managing director, Dubai Gold & Jewellery Group.
DGJG was established in 1996 mainly to support the first Dubai Shopping Festival and since then has partnered with the annual shopping event and other government driven marketing initiatives. Later this year, the Group will unveil its mega DSF promotion.
'I have associated with the Dubai Gold & Jewellery Group from the inception of DSF and I am happy to work with them more closely. DGJG's association with the government is a perfect example of collaboration between the public and the private sector and the benefits it can bring to the industry and consumers,'
said Laila Suhail.
In her position as a member of the DGJG Board of Directors, Suhail will oversee the Group's marketing and promotional activities and ongoing efforts to establish Dubai as the Jewellery Destination of the World.
Suhail is also the Director of DSF Board of Directors, DSS Executive Project Director and Member of the Sub-marketing Committee of Dubai Shoppping Malls Group.
She is the winner of the Government Excellence Award from HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, for generating high sponsorship funds for DSF in 2001. Suhail is also credited with achieving the highest targeted sponsorship revenues in 2005 and in catapulting the DSF and DSS brands to a higher level.
With an excellent academic record and over 12 years of association with the annual shopping and summer events, Suhail has initiated projects and events throughout the years for both DSF and DSS besides spearheading the Modhesh brand. To her credit goes the management of the main DSF awards including the Ideal Arab Mother and Family Awards, Journalism and Innovation Awards and also handling of the Ahlan Dubai call center and mydsf.ae, the official DSF and DSS website. She is also responsible for setting up a media center at the DSF Office. |
