Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI) strongly participated on Tuesday in the annual gathering of the Dubai-based business councils organized by the Jordanian Business Council at Grand Hyatt Hotel under the slogan 'Back to Business 2006'.
Consuls General of some Arab and foreign countries and over 600 businessmen and members of 33 business councils that operate under the umbrella of the DCCI, have attended the event, as well as a number of UAE national businessmen registered as honor members of these councils.

Participating in the event, which was attended by Atiq Juma Nasib, Director of Business Development Department in the DCCI, and Mohammed Hassan Al Khatib, Business Development Manager, provides the Dubai Chamber with an opportunity to promote its variety of commercial and added-value services offered to the business community and the mutual members of the DCCI and business councils. The DCCI team presented these services through providing the participants of the business councils annual gathering with printed information, brochures and publications, most important of which was the '1000 Numbers & Reasons Why Dubai' book which was highly appreciated and demanded by the attendants.

Nasib stressed the DCCI's interest in attending such meetings in accordance with its strategy that focuses on getting closer to the members of business councils which represent the business communities in different countries, in addition learning more about the activity of these councils and its role in networking with each other.

'We were interested to attend the annual gathering of the business councils to promote the DCCI services and activate a business networking with the representatives of these councils and learn about their suggestions to help improve our services, in addition to encouraging their related businessmen to exchange ideas and effectively interact with the business groups which also operate under the umbrella of the DCCI. The event helped us urging them to take part in our overseas trade exhibitions, attend meetings of the trade delegates visiting the DCCI and learn more about our latest services, especially that the DCCI is planning to provide business councils with new services next year,' said Nasib.

He pointed out that this gathering will be organized annually each year by one of the 33 business councils to extend a better communication and interaction among the businessmen of different economic sectors and nationalities. The business councils will be benefiting from such meetings to attract UAE national businessmen to be members of their councils.

Ihsan Al Qatawnah, President of the Jordanian Business Council, conducted a speech in which he welcomed the large number of attendants, stating that such meetings contribute to the support and development of businesses in different sectors and exchange of commercial expertise through interaction. Engineer Riyad Kamal, Former President of the Jordanian Business Council also conducted another welcoming speech.
