  HILLS BACK IN DUBAI
  1/5/2007 9:04:06 AM

Richard Hills will be in action at Nad Al Sheba on Thursday evening having missed the first part of the campaign, as he has done for the past three seasons.

Sheikh Hamdan's retained jockey has three rides, with his best chance appearing to be on Gill Duffield's Mabrum in the opening nine-furlong handicap for pure-bred arabians.

The following seven-furlong maiden is hard to call with Dhruba Selvaratnam's Fire Two the one to be on, according to official ratings.

However, he has been beaten on 14 occasions already so it may be best to concentrate on Tony Manuel's Seattle Clear and Erwan Charpy's Kept Faith with marginal preference for the latter.

Eight then go to post for a 12-furlong handicap with Satish Seemar responsible for no less than five of the runner.

All eight have a chance, but Seemar's Dark Point and Lover Boy both have a lot of scope for improvement and look the pair to focus on. Ted Durcan has elected to ride Lover Boy.

Thirty minutes later, 11 are set to face the starter in a fascinating conditions race for three-year-olds over seven furlongs.

Doug Watson's Lucky Ray and Tony Manuel's Friarscourt are winners in Argentina and Ireland respectively and look sure to be leading players, but Christian Wroe's Shavoulin is the most interesting contender.

He was not beaten far when fourth in a decent Newbury maiden and, as a son of Johannesburg, he should relish the switch to dirt.

A very competitive six-furlong handicap could revolve around Hills' mount Restructured, trained by Musabah Al Muhairi as is Instant Recall, who looks sure to go close.

Seemar's Belpasso and Watson's Bounty Quest are two others who cannot be discounted.

The concluding mile handicap sees 15 line-up but a poor race should be at the mercy of Raysoot, who can give trainer Dhruba Selvaratnam a much-needed boost and second winner of the season.
