THE manager of a Bridlington Post Office will be on her way to Dubai next year.
The trip has been won by Gillian Darley at the Post Office counter inside the Spar store in Quay Road which has been chosen as post office of the year by the Spar chain.
"I get to go to the three-day company conference being held there next year then afterwards there's time to spend enjoying the country," said Gillian, 49, of Avocet Way, who is married with two children.
The post office opened at the Spar five years ago and she joined as manager around two years ago.
To get the award the counter, which offers all the conventional post office services, had to fulfil various criteria including the products it sold, turnover and profit, customer feeback and the scrutiny of a "mystery shopper".
Not going to Dubai, but equally proud to share in the award are supervisor Amanda Medforth, of Bridlington, counter clerk Michaela Brown who lives in Sewerby and new staff member Christine Brodrick, of Buckton.
