HH General
Sheikh Mohammed visits Dubai Motor Show
His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed
bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and UAE Minister of
Defence visited the 8th edition of the Middle East International
Motor Show, organised by the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), currently
taking place at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition
Centre until December 16th.
Sheikh Mohammed was accompanied by HH
Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of the Department of
Civil Aviation and Chairman of the Emirates Group, and DWTC Director
General, Helal Saeed Khalfan Al Marri.
HH Sheikh Mohammed took ample time to
speak to the exhibitors and checked out a variety of cars at the
show that spreads over 48,000 M2 and utilises 11 exhibition halls,
the concourse and outdoor space at the DICEC.
The show this year has registered a
record 32% surge in exhibitors to cross the 200 mark indicating
a strong interest by global manufacturers in the Middle East region
and underlining the show's stature as the Middle East's most influential
and sought after automotive event as exhibitors reported deals and
confirmed orders on the first two days of the event.
Buoyed by premium oil revenues the economies
in the GCC region are booming, thereby spurring a growth in the
automobile industry. The region boasts among the highest cars-per-household
ratios in the world.
Entry tickets to the show are priced
at AED 15/- per person and the show remains open from 11.00 AM to
10.00 PM from 12th to 15th December and from 3.00 PM to 10.00 PM
on Friday (16th December). |
