Dubai and Abu Dhabi indices ease slightly |

After Monday's reversal into positive territory, the Dubai and Abu Dhabi bourses fell marginally yesterday to close at 4,077.72 and 2,926.89 respectively.
The Dubai Financial Market General Index fell 0.28 per cent with turn-over remaining low at 48.5 million shares valued at Dh 345.08 million.
While shares of real estate and insurance climbed 1.59 per cent and 0.02 per cent respectively, telecommunications and transportation declined 1.34 per cent and 1.12 per cent respectively.
Property giant Emaar was unchanged at the close of the day at Dh12.
Losers beat gainers nine to five. The losers were led by finance company Tam-weel, which was down 1.46 per cent to finish the day at Dh4.05 and telecom firm du losing 1.34 per cent at Dh6.61.
The shares of Arab Insurance Group rose 5.28 per cent to close at Dh2.59, closely followed by Oman Insurance and Dubai Islamic Insurance and Reinsurance Company, up 3.87 per cent and 3.42 per cent respectively.
The Abu Dhabi General Index declined 0.04 per cent with the telecommunications and construction sectors losing 1.47 per cent and 1.25 per cent.
Emirates Telecommunications Corp (Etisalat) shed 1.47 per cent to close at Dh16.80.
The gainers on the Abu Dhabi bourse led the losers by a difference of 2, 18 to 16, with two unchanged.
The gainers were led by RAKbank which climbed 9.98 per cent to close at Dh7.05 and National Bank of Fuj-airah which went up 9.89 per cent to Dh5.
The top two losers were Foodco Holdings and International Fish Farming, going down by 9.57 per cent and 9.40 per cent respectively.
Elsewhere
Qatar's Doha Securities Market Index gained 1.2 per cent to 6,947.7 as 16 stocks rose and four fell.
Industries Qatar, the largest publicly traded company in Qatar, added 0.6 per cent to 84.1 Qatari riyals.
Qatar Telecom, the largest telephone operator in the country, gained 1.5 per cent to close at 223 riyals.
Egypt's CASE 30 Index rose 0.1 per cent to 6,766.73 after the Middle East News Agency reported that President Hosni Mubarak proposed constitutional amendments that would allow opposition parties to put forward candidates in presidential elections. |
