Unveiled on the concluding day of Gitex 2006, www.dubaiworld.ae aims to provide better service to its large customer base, with the site now catering to both business partners and visitors seeking more information about Dubai World group business units.
Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Chairman, Dubai World, who approved the new-look website on Wednesday, said:
'The revamped website is an innovative way for our customers to know more about the dynamism of the Dubai World brand and will act as a live interface between the two sides. It will cater to everyone, from investors seeking opportunities for business to customers wanting more information about specific companies. This website is indeed a great value addition to our services and we hope it will encourage more people to visit us online.'
The site contains up-to-date information on new developments and features a News Centre offering updated news, images and video clips of the company's diverse projects - all fully accessible to the local, regional and international media.
The profiles of nearly 80 group companies, along with live links to their individual portals, are a convenient feature in the new website. Visitors can additionally subscribe to a corporate e-newsletter.
Serving as a one-stop information kiosk, the portal lists the companies under convenient sector-based categories such as Transport & Logistics, Property Development, Investments, Free Zone, Commodities, Financial Services , Maritime, E-Commerce, Hospitality & Leisure, Healthcare, Retail & Consumer Services, Utilities, Media and Entertainment and Aviation.
Mahmoud Saleh, Executive Director shared services, Dubai World, said:
'A website is not a project that you develop and forget. It is a process that needs constant attention and upgrading. The new Dubai World website will continue to evolve with the growth of our holding company, offering more innovations along the way.'
Mahmood Al Bastaki, Chief Information Officer, Shared Services, Dubai World, said:
'Creating a virtual window for a company with such a diverse portfolio of businesses like Dubai World is a challenging task. What made our task even more challenging is the phenomenal expansion of Dubai World's business activities since its launch barely six months ago. We have made every attempt to reflect our holding company's global presence and prestige in a coherently structured single website.'
Dubai World, a holding company for a range of business portfolios owned by the Dubai Government, has a mandate to work towards making Dubai the leading hub for commerce and trade.
It contributes to the Emirate's rapid economic growth across a wide range of strategic sectors ranging from unique real estate concepts to global marine services, customs innovations, investments and financial services. |
