Emirates was the Official Airline of the first Dubai Ladies Masters 2006, the first full Ladies European Tour (LET) event ever to be played in the Middle East.
The Dubai Ladies Masters took place at the Emirates Golf Club, on the 26th and 29th October 2006. This year’s tournament offers prize money of euro 500,000, making it one of the top five richest events on the Ladies European Tour.
Promoted and organised by ‘Golf in Dubai’, the tournament featured an elite group of 120 golfers besides some of the world’s top players, including Annika Sorenstam, Anna Rawson, Sophie Sandolo, Gwladys Nocera, and Catrin Nilsmark.
During the tournament, Emirates was host to a number of business associates and customers, and it organised an exclusive Pro-Am tournament on October 25.
Emirates is committed to sports sponsorship and believes it is a vital element in the airline’s marketing mix and a perfect way to connect its customers and share their passion.
Ghaith Al Ghaith, Emirates’ executive vice-president commercial operations worldwide said: “We are proud to be able to support the first Dubai Ladies Masters, and help reinforce Dubai’s position internationally as one of the most sought-after destinations by the world’s leading golfers. As a prominent supporter of top golf events around the world, including the Dubai Desert Classic, our involvement with this event closely fits our strategy of expanding our golf sponsorship portfolio.”
Commenting on Emirates support of the Dubai Ladies Masters, Mohammed Bua-maim, vice-chairman, Golf in Dubai, the event organiser, said: “We are delighted that Emirates, a renowned brand and sponsor of world-class golfing events, lent its support to the first Dubai Ladies Masters this year. |
