Dubai Festival City to attract more visitors
  7/18/2007 9:38:31 AM

Dubai Festival City, the world-class waterfront lifestyle resort, and one of the UAE’s most exciting retail, dining and leisure destinations, is expected to see a radical increase in traffic over the coming period, as a result of new roads opening and traffic control system recently implemented in the city.

“Last week we have witnessed a positive increase in traffic on Business Bay Crossing, consequently followed by a significant increase in footfall at Festival Waterfront Centre” said Tom Miles, Senior General Manager of Retail, Dubai Festival City. “Also, the new toll system is facilitating easy flow on Garhoud Bridge to Dubai Festival City.”

Tom Miles emphasised: “Business Bay Crossing, with its three dedicated ramps to Dubai Festival City, is indeed a great benefit for our retail resort; the bridge is providing smooth access to visitors coming from Bur Dubai or Jumeirah neighbourhoods. With its unique and diverse offering and a prime downtown location, Dubai Festival City will shortly become a ‘must visit’ destination.”

Festival Waterfront Centre brings together an extensive array of international fashion boutiques, famous brands and an eclectic variety of shops and services. The Centre’s stunning architectural environment and location is the inspiration for many brands to open their first shops in Dubai, including: Anne Klein, ABS, Danier, Guru, JM Weston, Lancel, Lamarthe, Sephora, Sacoor Brothers, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Marccain, Nougat of London and Paul Frank.

In addition to the fun-filled activities taking place at Dubai Festival City during Dubai Summer Surprises, customers can also benefit from the fantastic discounts and special offers at many of the Centre's outstanding outlets. The introduction of new stores and cafes such as Istana, Caroll, Biella, Ed Hardy, I Style, Ahmed Seddiqui & Sons, Karen Millen, Rodo, Dim Sum Steam Café and Café Blanc, offer customers the optimal shopping and entertainment experience.

Dubai Festival City’s 2.1 million sq. ft. retail resort will soon be home to 550 shops, 20 flagship and anchor stores, 90 restaurants and cafés. Additionally, a Skywalk Entertainment level will be home to a 12-screen Grand Cinema Complex, Electronics Collection, Bowling City, a Skywalk food court, Fitness First and Magrudy’s.
