Drake & Scull International (DSI), a major player in the region’s electro-mechanical engineering industry, has been awarded the AED 178 million contract to provide complete mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) works for the Park Rotana Mixed Use Development project coming up in Abu Dhabi’s prestigious tourism complex, Khalifa Park. The project is being developed by Al Mada Tourism Investment Company LLC, a joint venture promoted by Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA) and Rotana Hotels, Suites & Resorts.

The complex will include a 250 room hotel, 300 hotel apartments, office space and residential apartments. The hotel will have restaurants, meeting rooms, leisure and fitness facilities.

Drake & Scull International is contracted to provide complete MEP works over an area of 180,000 square meters that includes a rental apartments building; a serviced apartment building; a hotel building; and an office building with common basement and common lower ground floors that together make up the Park Rotana development.

The scope of MEP works in DSI’s 21-month long contract extends to supply, installation, testing and commissioning of systems for air-conditioning; ventilation; plumbing and drainage; building management, Fire-Fighting; power and lighting; telephone and data communications; Fire Alarm; video intercom; central emergency lighting; CCTV and Access Control security systems.
