  10/10/2006 8:21:05 AM
The Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) has updated the artwork displayed on a huge signboard on the famous Medina Road in Saudi Arabia’s port city of Jeddah to greet the Muslim world for the Holy Month of Ramadan.

The landmark road is considered one of the major n the kingdom as it connects to the holy city of Medina and most of the pilgrims and Jeddah visitors pass from this road upon departure from Jeddah’s King Abdul-Aziz International Airport back to their countries after visiting the holy cities of Makkah and Medina.

The artwork is inspired by the traditional architecture design that Dubai is famous for with an Arabic phrase ‘May Almighty Allah accepts your fasting and prayers’.

DTCM’s two Overseas Representation Offices in Riyadh and Jeddah are providing the support for all the nationals and the residents in the Kingdom to enhance the strong trade relations in tourism and investments sectors from the Saudi market to Dubai. The Saudi market is one of Dubai’s top feeder markets where its number of visitors has increased in 2005 by 32% compare to 2004.

The signboard campaign is part of a sustained DTCM campaign to woo a large number of tourists for leisure tourism and business opportunities. Approximately three million passengers pass through the Jeddah International Airport every year.

The message and artwork of the signboard will be changed periodically reflecting what Dubai has to offer for tourists at different seasons like the trend-setting Dubai Shopping Festival.

There are three bridge boards on the road that leading to the International airport in Jeddah and this is the first time that a tourist destination has utilized such a prime position.
