ADNEC to internationally promote Abu Dhabi as a major exhibition and convention destination
  11/29/2006 8:46:39 AM

Representatives of Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC) are travelling up to 100,000 km during the next few weeks to promote Abu Dhabi as a major exhibition and conference destination. The ADNEC representatives will attend exhibitions in China, the United Kingdom, The United States, Spain and Kuwait to promote ADNEC’s world-class exhibition facilities and attract international interest and support for Abu Dhabi’s Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) sector.

During the ‘UFI Congress’ in Beijing, the ‘World Travel Market’ in London, ‘Expo Expo’ in San Diego, ‘EIBTM’ in Barcelona and ‘Made in the UAE’ in Kuwait, ADNEC representatives will promote Abu Dhabi’s new multi-purpose venue to the international conference and exhibition community. These international events, relating to the MICE and travel industries, provide important opportunities for face-to-face interviews, meetings, negotiations and business transactions.

Speaking from the UFI Congress in Beijing, His Excellency Ahmad Humaid Al Mazrouie, Managing Director, ADNEC, said, “The UAE has realised that ADNEC is creating something incredible in Abu Dhabi however this development will be more than just a regional exhibitions venue. The new Exhibition Centre will be one of the largest and the most modern exhibition venues in the world, with facilities that are unmatched in terms of quality and design. The UFI Congress, in addition to the other events that we are attending, has been an excellent opportunity to promote Abu Dhabi as the leading destination for all important international events.”

A combination of economic reforms, multi-billion Dirham infrastructure investments and a focus on tourism development have all contributed to Abu Dhabi’s emergence as a major exhibition and convention destination for prestigious events. With world-wide studies proving that conferences and exhibitions are important catalysts for economic growth, there has been a renewed focus by key decision-makers to expand and promote growth in this sector. The UAE capital’s new multi-purpose exhibition venue will open in February 2007 and will include 57,000 square meters of exhibition floor space, 2,000 square meters of serviced office space and dedicated conference facilities for 1,200 people.

“When complete, ADNEC’s new exhibition centre will be unmatched in terms of style, quality and prestige and will host the premier events from the world’s leading companies. With a strong liquid-economy, a strategic location and international promotion, Abu Dhabi is quickly becoming an important exhibitions hub of the Middle East,” H.E. Mazrouie concluded.
