Mr. Rashid Matar, Director of Commercial Services Department in the DCCI, said that the new issue of Dubai Commercial Directory includes the latest and up-to-date developments of Dubai economic sectors to enable the members of the Chamber and the local business community to take advantage of the information and statistics published in the directory.
'Dubai Commercial Directory 2006-2007 is considered to be a necessary reference that covers the aspects of Dubai's rapid economic development, as well as a proper approach for those willing to open new channels of commercial cooperation and business opportunities with Dubai traders, exporters and importers.'
He pointed out that the directory, apart from its long lists of names and addresses of more than 60,000 trade, industrial and vocational companies that are registered in the DCCI, was the result of the efforts paid by the Chamber through coping with the latest economic changes and the non-stop work to provide and upgrade new services to its members and the business community.
The new directory also includes useful information about Dubai's infrastructure, its social services, necessary procedures for practicing economic activities, licensing procedures, investment incentives at the emirate's free zones and a brief about the latest important investment projects in Dubai.
Mr. Khalid Abdullah Al Ghurair, Managing Director of Al Ghurair Printing and Publishing House which supervised the printing of Dubai Commercial Directory 2006-2007, stressed the distinguished efforts done by the DCCI to publish this directory in cooperation with his company which was very keen to present the new directory with high quality printing features and spelling accuracy of the names of companies and its related information according to the alphabetical order which was adopted this year in the directory.
'Al Ghurair Printing and Publishing House have invested heavily in terms of resources covering research, training, personnel and equipment in the past 2 years in order to ensure that the directory is published according to international standards, and to promote the DCCI and its services offered to the local business community. Our company is very keen to provide more enhanced services to support businessmen and traders in Dubai,' said Al Ghurair.
The DCCI has published 14,000 copies of the Dubai Commercial Directory and 20,000 related CDs in Arabic and English. The Chamber will also distribute free copies of the directory to embassies, consulates and trade centers, in addition to business councils in Dubai, local and federal government establishments, universities, welfare and social associations, cultural and sports clubs, commercial missions and delegations and 5-4 and 3-star hotels.
The directory includes general information about the UAE, investment opportunities and requirements of practicing economic activities, as well as the most important economic and trade exhibitions, conferences and forums being held in Dubai.
The DCCI urged the business community to use Dubai Commercial Directory as a significant and trustful reference to deal with Dubai importers and exporters, as the Chamber has worked hard to present this directory as one of its numerous value-added services provided to its members and those willing to make business deals with the DCCI's members.
