DSS Cartoon Surprises Week opens |

 DUBAI — The Cartoon Surprises Week, organised by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI), kicked off yesterday at the Mall of the Emirates, to the delight of a large audience.
Modhesh, the adorable cartoon character and mascot of the Dubai Summer Surprises showed up at the Galleria corner with Aladdin and his Genie of the Magical Lamp, Sinbad, and others to greet the audience.
The impressive opening event of Cartoon Surprises was attended by top DCCI officials including Abdul Rahman Ghanem Al Mutaiwee, Director General, Hamad Buamim, Deputy Director General, Sultan Majid Lootah, acting Director of Business Promotion Department and Head of the Organizing Committee of Cartoon Surprises. In addition, the work team and a number of heads of various DCCI departments and coordinative committees were also present on the occasion.
"Using cartoon characters in the Cartoon Surprises week will encourage children to attend all the entertaining shows, plays, competitions and workshops which we have prepared to entertain them and enhance their knowledge and social awareness. Our aim is basically cultural and these activities will give children the knowledge and social awareness needed to teach them about the importance of hard work to achieve success," said Lootah.
A number of fascinating artistic shows were also performed by Sinbad, Aladdin and his Genie, Princess, Dragons, Elephants and fairies et al. to the sheer delight of all present.
Hundreds of colorful balloons were showered on the children who were thrilled with the breath-taking audio-visual effects used on the stage and with the 'Cartoon Fantasy' song which was especially prepared for the occasion. As many as 20 artists dressing in cartoon character costumes performed theatrical shows and each child got a gift by his favorite cartoon character.
The activities of the Cartoon Surprises also started at more than 15 shopping centers after the opening celebration was concluded. The various activities can be witnessed daily at various shopping malls such as Ibn Battuta Mall, Al Bustan Center, Lamcy Plaza, Deira City Center, Mercato, Hamarain, BurJuman, Al Ghurair, Bin Sougat, and Al Reef Mall, in addition to Modhesh Fun City.
The DCCI invites everyone to enjoy the activities of the cartoon surprises which will run till July 26 - daily from 5pm to10 pm.
