Dubai World Central offers good investment potential |

DUBAI — Dubai World Central, the multi-phase development centred around the Jebel Ali International Airport, will attract local as well as foreign investors and will be the new gateway to the global economy.
The project's three specialised zones — the Enterprise Park, the Commercial City and the Residential City — will offer huge investment potential due to its strategic location and infrastructure facilities, according to an industry expert.
The Enterprise park will target the manufacturing sector that incorporate advanced materials technology and will be home to research institutes, alternative technologies, office complexes, conference venues as well as medium-sized science park with its own specialised university.
A senior official from Dubai World Central (DWC) told Khaleej Times: “The university at Enterprise Park will be a strategic asset in the future productivity of DWC with a curriculum that encourages direct links between research and industrial communities. The first phase of Enterprise Park will be completed by the end of 2008."
He also added: “The Commercial City will be DWC's business and financial hub with more than 850 towers, ranging from six to 75 storeys in height. The city will have various business establishments and will employ around 130,000 people."
There will be 25 hotels in the Commercial City comprising of five star, four star and three star hotels which will eventually boost the hospitality industry in the UAE.
Plots of land will be sold to leading developers who will build in accordance with the approved DWC master plan developed by an international engineering consultancy, Dar Al Handasah, part of the DAR group. The first phase of Commercial City will be completed by the end of 2009.
Apart from this, the Residential City will be developed in three phases and freehold land plots will be offered to developers in the open market who will construct luxury villas, townhouses, super-deluxe apartments and blue collar accommodation.
The first phase of the Residential city will see land plots for sale by the end of 2007.
