Top seed Uebel ousted from ITF Dubai Aviation Cup |

DUBAI — Fifth seed Viktor Troicki of Serbia and Montenegro ousted the top seeded Lars Uebel of Germany 7-5, 6-0 for a semi berth in the men‘s category of the ITF Dubai Aviation Cup Futures tennis tournament here yesterday.
After a close opening set, in which Troicki won, the German collapsed in the second as he did not take any game for the Serbian to take the second set with ease and the match.
Troicki will now meet another German Mihail Zverev in the semifinal today. Zverev, ousted Xavier Audouy of France 6-4, 6-4. Eighth seed Philipp Pezschner of Germany defeated Lucas Rosol of the Czech Republic 6-4, 7-5 for a place in the semifinals. He faces Gero Kretschmer of Germany who beat Jan Masik of the Czech Republic 6-4, 7-6.
And in the women’s division, top seed Petra Cetkovska of the Czech Republic made it into the semifinals after beating Debbrich Feys of Belgium 6-2, 7-6 (2). Seven seed Katerina Avdiyenko of Ukraine also made it to the same round after her opponentAndreja Klepac of Slovakia retired following stomach pains.
