The Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) today announced the launch of 'Dalili' - a dynamic integrated navigation system to help drivers get real time road and traffic information while they are driving.
The move comes as RTA looks to further the provision of safe and smooth transport. The system will aid drivers in avoiding packed roads and will enable them to track optimal routes to their destination.
'Dalili', which in English translates to 'My Guide', works through a simple screen-based device which can be installed in any car. On simply downloading the software, the user will be equipped with up-to-date traffic information anytime and anywhere in the city.
Dalili provides many benefits to users, such as the ability to plan a route according to traffic information and updates received in real time, comprehensive guidance on unfamiliar roads especially for tourists, integration with intelligent parking facilities and navigation to various points of interest in Dubai.
Speaking at the conference, Hashim Al Hashimi, Director of Traffic Department at Roads & Transport Authority said, 'Dubai has grown immensely as a business hub and a tourist destination. As part of our strategy to ensure viable means of commuting and safe transport, Dalili is a breakthrough for Dubai's transportation infrastructure.'
'We are constantly innovating new products and services to provide cutting-edge solutions that enhance accessibility and connectivity in Dubai. We are looking to accelerate the pace of Dubai's already booming economy by ensuring world-class infrastructural offerings.'
'Dalili' is an easy to install software and hardware package that works seamlessly with any car. Moreover, users have the option of purchasing only the software if their cars already have a built in navigation system. It will benefit travelers from all realms which include individuals, fleet operators, public transport, commercial vehicle operators and emergency vehicle operators.
"With constant research and development we have been at the forefront of innovation, and are committed to equip the city of Dubai with the very latest in transport and technological developments.' Al Hashimi concluded.
