DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (UPI) -- Fujitsu Siemens Computers plans to open a computer factory in Dubai that will produce about 100,000 units per year.
Fujitsu and partner PWC Logistics aim to capture a significant part of the surging Middle East personal computer market, Khaleej Times reported Tuesday. Demand for PCs is growing in the Middle East, with the total PC market increasing at a rate of 20 percent annually, business computers at 35 percent annually and laptops at 40 percent annually.
The companies` strategy turns, in part, on being able to deliver PCs to customers in about a week`s time.
The factory is set to begin production next month.
