KUWAIT CITY, March 3 (Xinhuanet) -- Impregnable Roger Federer advanced into the semifinals at the Dubai Open on Thursday, after easing through Robin Vik from Czech Republic 6-3, 6-2.
Federer will next play Russia's Mikhail Youzhny, who reached his first semi-final of the year when he overwhelmed Olivier Rochus of Belgium 6-3 6-1.
World number two Rafael Nadal, who holds a 2-1 career record over Swiss mogul Federer, had to work hard before defeating Britain's 31-year-old Tim Henman 7-6, 6-1.
Henman showed enough drive against the Spanish teenager but he lacked consistency and was eventually beat even though he held the advantage early in both sets.
Also advancing into the semi showdowns is Rainer Schuettler of Germany who ousted fellow Bjoern Phau 6-4, 6-1.
