HAMBURG — Former world number one Justine Henin-Hardenne closed the gap on the leading players at the top of the WTA rankings with her third Dubai Open title.
Compatriot Kim Clijsters of Belgium retained her number 1 position in the WTA rankings released yesterday ahead of Australian Open champion Amelie Mauresmo of France, who missed out on a chance to go top with a quarter-final defeat in Dubai.
Henin-Hardenne swapping places with Maria Sharapova to go into fourth was the only movement in the top ten this week.
