  DTCM brings the best of Arabic calligraphy to Dubai

  The Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) is set to promote the ancient art of Arabic calligraphy though an dedicated Arabic calligraphy exhibition to be held between February 25th to March 5, 2006.
On show will be more than 100 works by 38 calligraphers from 17 countries at the Al Bustan Rotana Hotel in Dubai, the venue of the exhibition.

Building on the success of the previous editions, this is the third consecutive year that the DTCM is organizing the calligraphy exhibition.

Mr. Marwan bin Beyat, DTCM Manager Events and Supervisor of the exhibition, said: 'It is a great pleasure and privilege for us to be able to organize an event that highlight a traditional form of art in the Arab and Islamic world. Such exhibitions not only uphold Dubai's heritage and culture but also promote the art form of Arabic calligraphy."

An estimated 5,000 visitors are expected to visit the exhibition. A series of lectures and, workshops will be organized parallel to the exhibition.
