Gerard Butler will send dual Group Two winner Nayyir to Wolverhampton on Saturday to fine-tune him for a possible tilt at the Dubai Duty Free Stakes at Nad Al Sheba next month.
The eight-year-old is set to take his chance in the betdirect.co.uk Conditions Stakes after he was last seen finishing fourth behind Arakan in the Group Three Supreme Stakes at Goodwood last September.
Touched off in the Group One Sussex Stakes in 2004 by Soviet Song, Nayyir had an interrupted season last term but Butler is hoping to have a good run at all the major prizes this season.
"We are trying to get him organised to go out to Dubai in the next couple of weeks," said the Blewbury handler.
"He hasn't had a run for a long while and this looked the perfect opportunity for him.
"He qualifies for all the conditions of the race so hopefully it will go to plan.
"The Dubai Duty Free race, which he was third in two years is the long-term objective.
"I know he hasn't won a race for two-and-a-half years but let's hope he puts that right tomorrow - otherwise the trainer's head will be on the block!"
