Dubai Desert Classic
The Dubai Desert Classic is an annual professional golf tournament which is usually played in February or March. Dubai Desert Classic began in 1990 and is organized and promoted by the Dubai Desert Classic Executive Committee. The golf event is sanctioned by the PGA European Tour, sponsored by Dubai Aluminium (DUBAL) and presented in association with UAE Golf Association.
It is played on the "Majlis" course at Emirates Golf Club, although it moved to Dubai Creek Golf Club for two years in 1999 and 2000, and will again be staged there in 2007.
The Dubai Desert Classic at the Emirates Golf Club features a challenge match on the first day, a pro-am competition on the second and then the four days of the Classic itself.
