Dubai Humanitarian
City
The Dubai Government has recently launched
Dubai Humanitarian City (DHC), an initiative focused on facilitating
humanitarian efforts on a global platform. In a world with divergent
realities that is riddled with political instability, Dubai realises
the urgent need to bring together and facilitate organisations working
towards a similar objective.
The potential of developing
a new humanitarian network between UN Agencies; independent international
organisations and non-government entities working for the betterment
of a global community is immense. The opportunity to spearhead an
initiative that has the ability to change the global humanitarian
movement through networking and coordination is undeniable. Dubai’s
progressive policies have created the perfect impetus for such a
change.
Dubai Humanitarian City's Vision
Establish Dubai as the regional hub for global humanitarian assistance
through a platform from which humanitarian organisations can launch
their efforts in a non-political environment.
Making a
Difference
Humanitarian Organisations, for the first time in history, have
a single platform from which to launch their activities. The opportunity
to network and coordinate activities amongst humanitarian organisations
had the potential to reduce reaction time to global disasters along
with a cost effective option for a timely response.
