The Free Zone
Authority has a questionnaire to assess your company's requirements
and whether it can be met. After submitting the questionnaire, you
will be given a license application, a list of invoice required
for planning, consumer request for electricity and Form B for environmental
concerns if applicable. Submit the license application.
Provisional approval is given
along with a specimen lease agreement; personnel documents for the
License requirement are submitted. After the company representative
and the Authority have met and finalized details of the project,
actual documents are processed. |

Dubai itself is not
tax free, although this generalization is often made. Rather, Dubai
contains a number of economic free zones which have various economic
incentives to encourage investment and commercial development. These
zones include the Internet and Media Cities, the International Financial
Centre, Maritime City, the Airport Free Zone, and the Jebel Ali
Free Zone.
Companies and their managers are limited
by few restrictions in a liberal business climate. There are no
requirements that force companies to enter in to partnerships with
local enterprises, no import or export duties are payable within
the zone, there is 100% repatriation of both profit and capital
within the zone, and there are no restrictions on currency. The
advantages offered by the Jebel Ali Free Zone to those considering
retirement, and who have assets they would like to invest in a state
where their tax liabilities are limited, are quite obvious. |
